For over 40,000 years clay has been used to create a link between earth, man and spirit. In a desire to create art, I have chosen clay as my medium. I now live on a small country lake and enjoy the many sights, creatures, sounds and joys of nature. I invest many hours designing and creating each one-in-the-world studio art pottery vessels. I put lake water, sand, seaweed and flowers into my stoneware clays. I wheel-throw or hand-build each form. I use brushwork to paint englobes, oxides, glazes and metals onto my vessels. I then high and low fire each vessel multiple times in oxidation in small earth-friendly electric kilns. I put my personal aesthetics, life experiences and feelings into each art pottery vessel. In an industrial world, may my humble art bring pleasure to the eye, adventure to the hands, some joy to the heart, and in some small way enrich your life!
