Donna Pellegata, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, studied at the Art Institute of Atlanta, participated in workshops and has taught many of her own. Her career has included numerous awards, and art for residential and commercial sites at home and abroad. These works include residential and commercial murals, finishes, commissioned people and pet portraits, paintings, fArCiCaL fOlK aRt, hand painted furniture, floor cloths, jewelry, lampwork and now children’s books.
Donna is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), The Children’s Book Illustrators Group (CBIG) of NY, childrensillustrators.com, The Village Fine Arts Association and the Huron Valley Council for the Arts in Michigan. Her first illustrated picture book was published in 2008, “The Harp Mouse Chooses her Home: The Adventure Begins” written by Diane E Dunn. She is currently under contract to illustrate two more books, “Enchanted Tree of Crooked Lake, written by Rachel Longhurst, author of “Where My Story Begins” and “Harp Mouse Adventures-Book II” (working title), written by Diane E Dunn, both to be released in 2009-2010.
